A Ripley man has been indicted on charges including rape and felonious assault after being accused of sexually abusing two of his stepdaughters over a two year period.
Daniel Fite, age 27, of 815 Oak Street, was indicted by a grand jury Monday, May 21 on eight felony counts of rape, as well as two felony counts each of assault, gross sexual imposition, and endangering children.
According to the indictment, Fite allegedly began abusing the youngest stepdaughter around the time of her 7th birthday in May 2016. The abuse allegedly continued until May 4 of this year. She is now nine years old.
The second victim is 12 years old.
The indictment further alleges the sexual assaults resulted in serious physical harm to the victims.
Fite was arrested May 9 on an initial charge of rape after surrendering himself to authorities, according to online jail records.
Fite is currently being held in the Brown County Adult Detention Center on a $500,000 cash, surety or property bond. He has pleaded not guilty.
A pre-trial hearing has been set for June 5th in Brown County Common Pleas Court.
If convicted, Fite could spend the rest of his life in prison.

I’m not aure about Ohio laws, but unknown some states consider sexual contact with step children as incest. Hopefully they can add that charge to add some time to his sentence if he is found guilty.

I had a grandchild that was sexually abused by a mother’s boyfriend but charges were not pressed against him, but God took care of that, because 9 years later he died a very painful death due to cancer – thankfully he got his punishment!

Its all horse crap. I know for a fact that the mother of the children put the kids up to it bc she found out he was cheating on her. And they are not married. Also, kids who are abused dont want anything to do with the abuser and yet those kids loved him and cried for him and wanted to be around all the time but cried and threw fits when it was time to go to their dads house and begged their mom not to send them but she did anyway
