Home invader arrested for pawning stolen TV, suspected in firearm theft

Brown County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man for burglary and theft charges after he was alleged to have pawned a flatscreen TV he stole in a home invasion.

The man, Nicholas Brumley of Felicity, Ohio, was originally arrested for drug charges in Clark Township on Thursday, Sept 24. Deputies were responding to an address on Love Day Road to question him about a stolen firearm.

Prior to being questioned, Brumley admitted to officer he had drugs and a hypodermic needle in his possession. Deputies retrieved from Brumley’s wallet a brownish powder suspected to be heroin and a strip of suboxone, and a capped hypodermic syringe from his front left pocket.

Brumley denied any knowledge about the stolen firearm, according to police. He has not been charged regarding the stolen fiream.

However, as the investigation unfolded, it was learned Brumley invaded a neighbor’s residence and stole an LG 32″ flatscreen TV on Tuesday, Sept 22. The television was located at Eastside Pawn in Bethel, Ohio, where Brumley reportedly sold it for $55.

Second-degree felony burglary charges and first-degree misdemeanor theft charges were filed against Brumley on Tuesday, Sept 29 and he remains lodged at the Brown County Adult Detention Center.

Man arrested for inappropriate sexual conduct with a teenager

Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20-year-old man on Tuesday, Sept 29 who stands accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl.

An arrest warrant was issued on Friday, Sept 25 for Michael Tyler Simington, of Hamersville, Ohio, after the Brown County grand jury returned an indictment for one count each of fourth-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and third-degree misdemeanor sexual imposition.

The indictment alleges Simington had sexual contact with the girl, who is now 14, between June 20, 2015 and July 20, 2015.

Simington remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Officers arrest intoxicated home intruder who fell asleep during incident

Brown County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man who fell asleep while invading a home on Sunday morning, Sept 27.

According to police, the suspect, Justin Greiner of Leesburg, Ohio, entered a Jackson Township home through a side-door and was confronted by a woman inside. The woman asked Greiner who he was and why he was in her house, but he did not respond.

The woman told police the suspect then grabbed a pillow from a couch and went to sleep in her hallway.

Police said Greiner appeared highly intoxicated and took him into custody, charging him with fourth-degree felony burglary.
