A man is facing charges after he allegedly smuggled marijuana into the Brown County Adult Detention Center inside of his anal cavity on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
Corrections officers allegedly found two small baggies of marijuana in suspect Jeremy Fletcher’s anal canal after he had been repeatedly asked if he had any contraband on his person, according to court records.
Fletcher was being temporarily admitted into the Brown County Adult Detention Center on carrying concealed weapon and weapon under disability charges after a firearm was supposedly found on him during a traffic stop.
The Brown County Adult Detention Center is closed, but is currently acting as a temporary holding facility for the county’s inmates while the jail is being repaired.
Possessing small quantities of marijuana is typically a minor misdemeanor citation in Ohio. However, Fletcher received an additional felony for attempting to smuggle marijuana into the jail, a government facility.
Fletcher was transported to Butler County Jail and is being held on $35,000 bond. He has been charged with one count each of third-degree felony illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified government facility, third-degree felony having weapons while under disability, and fourth-degree felony carrying concealed weapons.
