A Cincinnati man was indicted by a Brown County grand jury on Thursday, May 5, accused of trafficking in a bulk amount of prescription medication.

Michael C. Butterbaugh, age 56, was indicted in Brown County Common Pleas Court on one count each of aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both third-degree felonies.

The indictment includes specifications for forfeiture of a 2008 Cadillac Escalade and $933.00 in cash seized during the bust.

Butterbaugh allegedly trafficked in a bulk amount of oxycodone in Brown County on Jan. 28, according to the indictment.

Oxycodone is a Schedule II drug under Ohio law.

Butterbaugh pleaded not guilty during a Friday morning arraignment. He is free on $30,000 O.R. bond awaiting a June 3 pre-trial hearing.

Criminal defense attorney Mark Tekulve will represent Butterbaugh.
