Man arrested for burglary, B&E, theft incidents

gerardBrown County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 39-year-old man Wednesday, Oct 14 for a series of burglary and theft incidents.

Joshua Thomas Gerard, listed as homeless, is accused of breaking into a man’s garage in Washington Township, Brown County on Friday, Oct 2, and removing a DeWalt Drill, leaf blower and copper wire. He is also accused of taking a 12-volt battery from a pickup truck parked outside of the garage. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $470.00.

On that same day, Gerard is alleged to have trespassed into his parent’s home and stole cash. He has admitted to those charges, according to sheriffs.

Gerard is currently detained at the Brown County Adult Detention Center, charged with third-degree felony burglary, fifth-degree felony breaking & entering, and first-degree misdemeanor theft.
