The Brown County grand jury returned an indictment on Thursday, November 5 against a man accused of punching and strangling his ex-girlfriend and her daughter.
On Oct 6, Deputy Carlson of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of a domestic violence incident on Moon Road, Green Township.

When Carlson arrived, the woman told him she had just been assaulted by her now ex-boyfriend, Steven Jordan, a few moments prior.
She stated to Carlson she was unhappy with Jordan being drunk all the time and was attempting to kick him out when he began to strangle her.
The woman continued, saying that her daughter attempted to intervene when she saw Jordan choking her. Jordan took the daughter to the ground before getting back up and punching the daughter in the back of her head. Jordan then got on top of his ex-girlfriend and punched her twice in the face.
According to the ex-girlfriend, Jordan quickly fled the scene in a silver Pontiac Sunfire after hearing his ex-girlfriend’s children threaten to call police.
Both victims were transported to Mount Orab Mercy Hospital to be evaluated.
Jordan, who has previous convictions for domestic violence in Greene and Highland counties, was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of third-degree felony domestic violence. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Jordan is currently serving a 90 day sentence for first-degree misdemeanor OVI in Highland County.
