The man who allegedly robbed the First State Bank of Ripley last week was taken into custody Sunday afternoon, Dec 6.
Brown County Communications Center received a 911 call at 11:19 AM on Monday, Nov 30 from an employee of First State Bank of Ripley claiming a man with a bandana draped over his face had produced a handgun demanding money. He fled with approximately $5,300 in cash, according to the caller.
Nearby, discarded clothes, boots and a fake handgun believed to be used during the robbery were located.
The suspect allegedly responsible for the armed robbery, Shane Oliver Patrick, age 22, was arrested Sunday afternoon and brought to the Brown County Adult Detention Center. He has been charged with third-degree felony robbery and is being held without bond.
Patrick may have left the scene in a gray minivan driven by another individual. He was reportedly wearing a blue vinyl backpack at the time, which was possibly used to store the cash.
