A Hillsboro man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a man’s body in a ditch near Mt. Orab.
According to police, Billy R. Hackworth, age 44, allegedly sold drugs to Clint Doss, age 38, and then dumped his body alongside Oakland Road after Doss fatally overdosed on Oct. 12.
Doss was found lying in a ditch by a passerby around 9 a.m. the next morning. No injuries were found on his body.
A toxicology test performed by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office determined a fentanyl overdose to be the cause of death, police said.
Hackworth was booked into jail Thursday evening, Dec. 21 on an unrelated OVI charge.
He faces preliminary charges of involuntary manslaughter, drug trafficking, corrupting another with drugs, and tampering with evidence in relation to Doss’ death.
The case was investigated by the Brown County Drug & Major Crimes Task Force with assistance from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Orab Police Department and Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Innocent until proven guilty. By the way how many people have sold drugs to other people and they have died how many people have shot other people up and they have died and nothing has ever been done about it. I know for sure my son was shot up and left and die and no one investigated the cops then nothing at all. For one thing yes my son did drugs but he never shut up

I think the whole thing is a sad situation, you have 2 families with out there son’s. It shouldn’t matter who shot who up with what,What matters is you have 2 families with out there sons.If people would be more kind and giving. Then always putting each other down maybe this terrific wouldn’t happen You need to pray for these 2 families instead of putting them down.Because I am almost sure know one on here is perfect. I am sure you have done something wrong in your life.

By reading these responses I can deduce that most, if not all of you need an education in your lives. Nothing but sentence fragments, misspelled words, and who knows what some of the short hand these young people use now. Each person is responsible for their own actions and should answer to them as seen fit by that individual. If you shoot someone up with drugs and they OD, then be a decent human being and call 911 for f@#k sake. You would be in much less trouble and at the very least have a peace at mind that your not responsible for another life. Instead maybe you saved a life, and who knows. Maybe you own someday. Think about it people.

Where does it say this man shot him up??? I only see he sold him drugs… yes it is a good reason for jail, however charge for what he has done which is sold drugs… last I checked everyone is responsible for their own actions! You do drugs, you will most likely die! Fact!!! What isn’t a fact is that he shot the man up… who would let someone do that regardless unless your already on drugs!

I guarantee that Clint did not choose to do fentanyl. The criminals who sell fentanyl as something else are murderers. THEY deserve death.
