Justin Greiner was sentenced in Brown County Municipal Court on Tuesday, Oct 27 for an incident in which he drunkenly trespassed into a woman’s home and fell asleep.

According to the affidavit, on Sept 27, Justin Greiner, of Leesburg, Ohio, entered a Jackson Township home through a side-door and was confronted by a woman inside. She told deputies she was sleeping when she heard the door open and thought it was her daughter arriving to drop off her granddaughter.

The woman said when she realized it was a man she had never seen before, she asked him who he was and why he was in her house. Greiner did not respond and instead grabbed a pillow from her couch, going to sleep in the hallway, the affidavit says.

Dep. Michael Meyers wrote Greiner appeared to be “highly intoxicated” at the time.

Greiner was taken into custody, charged with fourth-degree felony burglary.

On Oct 27, Greiner entered a plea of guilty to the lesser offense of first-degree misdemeanor aggravated trespassing and was sentenced to 90 days suspended with one year probation. Greiner must also undergo a drug/alcohol assessment and complete 80 hours of community service.

A show cause hearing has been set for Monday, Feb 29.

Unsafe working conditions force Brown County Adult Detention Center to close

Brown County Adult Detention Center

The Brown County Adult Detention Center was forced to close on Thursday, Nov 12 due to unsafe working conditions, local media reported.

Between 80 and 90 inmates are being relocated to Butler County Jail in Hamilton, which will cost Brown County around $60 a day per inmate, Brown County Commissioner Barry Woodruff said.

According to Woodruff, employees of the Brown County Adult Detention Center will be paid for 21 days and will then be eligible to apply for unemployment.

Earlier in the month, female inmates were relocated to Butler County Jail so locks at Brown County Adult Detention Center could be repaired.

On Thursday, the insurers for Brown County ordered the commissioners to immediately fix the locks or have inmates moved to a new location, citing unsafe working conditions. The jail was promptly shut down thereafter.

Brown County Report will continue to update as more information is released.

Hernandez was placed under arrest after a series of field sobriety tests, according to Trooper Dunn, who was the officer on scene.

Dunn wrote that after he was detained, a woman arrived saying Hernandez is her estranged husband and he did not have her permission to drive the car, a Chrysler Sebring.

Hernandez’ driver’s license was also not valid.

At the Georgetown Patrol Post, Hernandez was Breathalyzed and produced a .084% BAC. He was then booked into the Brown County Adult Detention Center and charged with first-degree misdemeanor OVI and first-degree misdemeanor unauthorized use of a vehicle.
