A man is under arrest after he allegedly broke into a Brown County home and stole a television worth $2,000.

According to a criminal complaint filed Nov 30 in Brown County Municipal Court, John William Spratt has been accused of breaking into a Washington Township home between Sept 30 and Oct 1 for the purpose of removing a 50″ LG Smart TV.

The television is estimated to be worth $2,000.

Spratt denies stealing the television, saying he did not enter the home and only left water on the porch. However, a witness told investigators they saw Spratt’s vehicle parked outside of the residence for several hours, according to the complaint.

Spratt was taken into custody Friday, Nov 27 and has been charged with second-degree felony burglary and fifth-degree felony theft. He is currently being held on $30,000 cash, surety or property bond.
